Two in critical condition after motorcycle-car accident


Au GRES — Two people from Pinconning were airlifted to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and are in critical condition after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car in Au Gres Sunday, July 21.

According to Arenac County Undersheriff Don McIntyre, Shawn Davidson, 37, of Pinconning, was driving a motorcycle northbound on US-23 and collided with a car that was traveling southbound and turning into a private driveway at a business. The car was driven by Yvonne Mallak, 55, of Oscoda.

Dawn Davidson, 46, of Pinconning, was riding on the back of the motorcycle at the time of the accident. Both Shawn and Dawn were transported to the Detroit hospital via flight care, McIntyre said. He said Shawn was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but Dawn was not.

Mallak suffered minor injuries in the accident. McIntyre said no citations have been issued at this time. The accident is still being investigated, McIntyre said.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m.
