Three minor injuries reported in Aug. 10 accident

A car involved in a three-car accident Sunday in Au Gres is towed away from the scene.

Au GRES — A three-car accident in Au Gres Sunday, Aug. 10, resulted in three minor injuries, according to Arenac County Undersheriff Donald McIntyre.

The accident was reported at approximately 4:55 p.m. Reportedly, a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a minor was traveling southbound on Main Street, and while proceeding through the intersection of Main Street and US-23, collided with a GMC Canyon traveling eastbound.

The GMC Canyon was driven by Mary Klenow, 57, of East Tawas. After the initial collision, the Grand Prix collided with a third vehicle —a Dodge Charger driven by Stephanie Nelson of Au Gres.

A passenger in the Canyon was injured, and two passengers in the Grand Prix were injured. Two of the three people who reported injuries were transported to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital via Arenac County MMR.

The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Au Gres-Sims-Whitney Fire Department, MMR and Au-Tow Service & Towing of Au Gres.
