WASHINGTON D.C. — Erwin Porath, 84, of Sterling, had never visited the nation’s capitol, but on Nov. 22, the World War II Naval Fleet Veteran was able to see all of the hallowed memorials in Washington D.C. – all expenses paid.
Porath signed up to take the trip with Honor Flight Michigan, which provides World War II Veterans with a chance to visit D.C. for a day, free transportation to and from the beltway and free meals, as well.
Get all the information on Porath's trip in the Dec. 2 issue of the Independent.
