State police investigating potential homicide


PINCONNING — A 25-year-old male found dead inside of a residence in the 5000 block of North Huron Road in Pinconning Feb. 8 appeared to have been shot, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police.

Lt. Brian Cole told the Independent Feb. 10 that the victim of the possible homicide was Brian Charboneau, 25, of Pinconning.

MSP troopers and Bay County Sheriff’s Department deputies took a person of interest into custody at the scene, the press release said. The person of interest is a 26-year-old Pinconning man.

Cole told the Independent Feb. 10 that the suspect was awaiting arraignment.

Troopers responded to the possible shooting at 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 8. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the possible homicide is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.

The MSP Crime Lab, Bay County Sheriff’s Department and Northern Bay Ambulance assisted with the investigation.
