Standish to receive $485,000 for construction of fire hall building

STANDISH — The city of Standish will receive $485,000 to construct a new fire hall building. The money is part of $5,571,000 in funding Michigan is receiving from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Unites States Department of Agriculture.

Information from an e-mail sent from U.S. Senator’s Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin said the money will be spent on construction in rural communities.

“These grants will help build and renew critical community facilities in towns across Michigan,” Levin said in the press release.
