Sheriff’s Department investigating attempted abduction
STANDISH — The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible attempted abduction that occurred at a party store in the Standish area on Feb. 10.
A white male, mid 20's, 5 foot 9 inches, approximately 150 pounds, blonde hair, with scruff facial hair attempted to lure a female employee into his van. The suspect was waiting for the employee to arrive to open the store. The van is described as a white mini van, possibly a Pontiac with a large windshield and longer nose cone. There was possibly a second person in the back of the van. Subject's first name may be Jesse and he may be from the Arenac/Iosco County area.
Arenac County Sheriff James Mosciski says the store, the venue of the incident, is located on M-61 and the prospective victim retreated back into the store after the suspect tried luring her into his van.
And the prospective victim may have provided the sheriff’s office with a lead in the investigation.
“She ID’ed him, apparently he’s been in there before,” Mosciski said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Arenac County Sheriff Department at 989-846-4561.
