ALCONA — Falling victim in a mercy effort to Bangor John Glenn Wednesday night, the Standish-Sterling soccer team tried to rebound as it traveled to Lincoln-Alcona for a non-conference match-up Thursday night.
After falling down early in the game 1-0, Tanner Trombley received the setup from Garrett Russell on a nice pass for the Panthers’ first and tying goal. Moments later Matt Prohaska set Shay Irving up for the second and winning goal.
Cody Bechtel stopped ten shots-on-goal for his second win in net.
The Panthers welcome conference rival Pinconning Monday Sept. 15.
