SMMSH offering free blood pressure/sugar screenings

STANDISH — On April 23, St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital (SMMSH) Drs. Marvin Keeling and Donna Washington will be stationed at Pamida from 9 am to noon to familiarize themselves with the public through free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.

According to SMMSH Marketing Specialist Bill Morand, the screenings are open to the public and the doctors will try to answer any health questions a person may have.

“It’s really just a general health consultation,” Morand said. “It’s a chance for the public to meet the new doctors and get their blood sugar and blood pressure checked and ask questions.”

He also says he isn’t sure how many people will attend but says there isn’t concern as to the maximum capacity for the event.

Drs. Keeling and Washington are relatively new internal medicine specialists with SMMSH who were both hired earlier this year.
