Quick start gets Lady Braves rolling at WP

WHITTEMORE — Tawas Area raced out to an 18-5 first quarter lead and cruised to a 70-26 NEMC girls' basketball victory over Whittemore-Prescott on Friday.

Audrey Thoryk scored a career-high 15 points for the Braves (13-2, 7-0 NEMC), hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point line. Rachel Adaline led Tawas in scoring with 18 points and added nine rebounds, while Gina Gerow had 11 points and seven assists and Molly Stoll added 12 rebounds.

Cortney Bork scored nine for W-P (1-14, 0-7), with Cory Durham adding eight points and eight rebounds.
