Pinny wins annual tournament

PINCONNING - Dec. 6, 2008 - Pinconning's wrestling squad won its annual Louis Socier Memorial wrestling tournament, sweeping through Harrison, Whittemore-Prescott, Elk Rapids, Gaylord's "B" squad and Mt. Morris to finish the day unbeaten.

Unbeaten (5-0) wrestlers on the day were Adam Pawelski (119 pounds), Tyler Wieland (130), Seth Haas (140), Charlie Burch (145), Colton Lucynski (160) and Coty Swinson (215).

Tyler Espitia (135) and Brian Hardy (152) each went 4-1 while Arthur Espitia (103), Taylor Pomaville (112) and John Stark (171) each went 3-2.

The Spartans (5-2) were scheduled to go to Roscommon on Wednesday to wrestle the Bucks and Ogemaw Heights.
