MOUNT PLEASANT — The Pinconning football team was defeated by Clare 28-18 in the Division 5 district title game at Central Michigan University's Kelly Shorts Stadium Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7.

The Spartans finish the season at 7-4, but gave the unbeaten Pioneers (11-0) all they could handle before falling 10 points short.

The Spartans trailed only 14-6 at halftime and stayed within striking distance of the Pioneers in the second half but couldn't get over the hump.
