Panthers take on Spartans in Homecoming competition fundraiser

By John Fischer

STANDISH — Friday October 3, Pinconning and Standish-Sterling students will have the opportunity to see their Principal and Assistant Principal catch a pie in the face.

According to Pinconning Principal Andy Kowalczyk, the Northern Bay Arenac Rotary Club (NBARC) will host the competition in which students from the participating schools will pay $1 to shoot a basketball into a garbage can. Score will be kept and the team with the most baskets will see their two administrators pied during the half-time festivities.

The competition starts at 5:30 and will run up until the start of the game. At that time, score will be counted and the winner will be determined.

Kowalczyk says that it is uncertain if any student organizations will be directly involved but, regardless, he does expect a decent student turnout.

The NBARC will use the funds for general projects throughout the community.
