Standish-Sterling's run in the football playoffs came to an end Saturday, Nov. 16, as the Panthers were defeated 49-27 by Menominee.

SSC trailed the Maroons 49-13 going into the fourth quarter, but did not go down without a fight. The Panthers scored two more touchdowns to cut the lead to 49-27, and then picked off a Menominee pass with more than five minutes left to play.

However, SSC did not score again and Menominee was able to run the clock out and advance to the state semifinals.

The Panthers finished the season 9-2.
