Ogemaw Heights smashes W-P

OGEMAW HEIGHTS — Ogemaw Heights' boys basketball team won its seventh straight game Friday, clinching second place in the North East Michigan Conference with a 68-47 victory over Whittemore-Prescott.
The Falcons started seniors Kody Smith, Eric Noble, Jimmy Stalsberg, Dee DesJarden and Alex Rose in their final home game. Ogemaw led 9-3 after the first quarter but opened up a 36-22 halftime advantage.
All 13 Ogemaw Heights players scored, led by Rose's 13 points. Smith and Alex Jennings each added 10 points and Robby Kish had nine.
Billy Raushi led W-P (2-17, 0-10 NEMC) with 17 points, with Kevin Dupuis adding seven.
Ogemaw, after starting off the season 0-3 and suffering a mid-season losing streak that put the Falcons at 4-7, is now 11-7 overall and finished 6-4 in league play.
