OHHS runs over Pinny en route to first NEMC win

WEST BRANCH — Ogemaw Heights' boys opened defense of their NEMC title by taking down Pinconning in both teams' first league dual, 101-36.

Winning events for the Falcons were the 4x800 relay team of Brian Valley, Martin Nelkie, Michael Lentz and Keegan Taylor (9:19.61); Alex Rose in the discus (159-8.5) and shot put (52-8); Chad Avram, Jon Mahl, Conrad Laurion and Jay Boycott in the 4x200 relay (1:39.43); Nelkie in the 1600 (5:02.59); 7.27 Avram, Aaron Dougherty, Laurion and Boycott in the 4x100 relay (47.27); Keegan Taylor in the 400 (59.17); Clayton Clemens in the 800 (2:21.93); Avram in the 200 (24.01); Steven Wysocki in the 3200 (11:44.41); and Avram, Dougherty, Laurion and Michael Lentz in the 4x400 (3:47.73).

Pinny's winners were Alex Bray in the high jump (6-0); Charles Burch in the long jump (17-2.75) and pole vault (10-0); Ronnie Trower in the 110 hurdles (16.91); Tyler Espitia in the 100 dash (12.12); and Michael Grusnick in the 300 hurdles (45.20).
