National City man in serious condition after motorcycle accident

STANDISH TWP. — A motorcycle accident on Pine River Road in Standish Township Sept. 24 resulted in potentially life-threatening injuries for a 57-year-old National City man.

Arenac County Undersheriff Donald McIntyre said James Tuzinski was traveling westbound on Pine River Road on a 2003 Victory motorcycle, and while navigating the curves on the road, struck a guardrail. Tuzinski was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to McIntyre.

Tuzinski was transported to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital by MMR, and then airlifted to St. Mary’s of Saginaw, where he remains in serious condition, McIntyre said.

The incident was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. and required the roadway to be shut down temporarily.
