STANDISH — A 32-year-old Standish man was arrested Wednesday Aug. 11 by the Arenac County Police Department after leading officers on a foot chase. Police were called to 213 N. Forest St. after a woman from the residence was taken to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital of a suspected overdose.

Undersheriff Donald McIntyre said officers responded to a call from the residence and Mobile Medical Response transported the woman to St. Mary’s. He said officers were alerted that a male subject may have outstanding warrants for owing Friend of the Court $400 of unpaid child support.

“Officers were unable to locate the man initially, but after looking around an officer spotted the suspect running from the back of the residence,” McIntyre said.

He said Officers were lead on a foot chase before apprehending the suspect at the corner of Beaver and Main Street.

McIntyre said the warrant was issued on Apr. 8, and the man had until June 4 to pay the $400.

The suspect has been arraigned and is now serving 45 days in jail.
