Magic abounds at county libraries

Posted

ARENAC COUNTY — Magician Tom Plunkard visited the county libraries June 27, delivering his own brand of illusions and comedy to audiences in Au Gres, Omer and Standish. Plunkard showed off tricks using handkerchiefs, golf balls, rings, birds and a bunny, all while keeping a laid back and comedic attitude.

Due to Independence Day falling on a Thursday, there is no show in any Arenac County library scheduled for the first week of July, but “Life Beneath the Surface,” a show about bats, will visit all three libraries the following week. It will be at Omer July 10 at 6 p.m., Au Gres July 11 and 10:30 a.m., and in Standish at 2 p.m.

Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko-Green is scheduled to visit Tawas and Oscoda’s libraries on July 2 at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, and Whittemore and Plainfield July 3 at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
