Live like a Republican, vote Democrat
In 20 of the last 28 years, we have been ruled by a Republican administration.
Regan gave us Reaganomics, or the trickle-down economy. Give big business and the rich tax breaks and we’ll be all right. That led to a recession.
Then, we had George H. Bush and nothing changed. Big business and corporations got tax breaks and our economy fell into another recession.
Bill Clinton, a Democrat, took office and the American worker found a friend. He led us out of a recession and replaced the taxes on big business and the rich, and lo and behold, we had money to invest in after-school programs, more police on the streets, summer jobs for college students and government-sponsored scholarships for the needy.
Middle class Americans had extra money to buy toys: campers, boats, four-wheelers, snow machines and some even played the stock market. Life was good, the Democrats left office eight years later and our budget was balanced and we actually made a surplus.
This is where the middle class made a huge mistake, which I hope will never happen again. Middle class Americans were living like Republicans – lots of money, lots of toys, vacations and large bank accounts. Think about it, it’s true. If you want to live like a Republican, you need to vote for a Democrat.
Eight years of the Bush administration more than proves my point. How are you doing today? John McCain’s economic plan is the same as Bush’s. Give big oil companies tax breaks and keep wages low. Can you hear me now?
We can’t make another major mistake at the voting booth, we must vote for a democrat this November to help us working class Americans get our lives back. I’m voting for Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. If you want the good life, you’re welcome to join me.
