Here are some stories in the news that we’re interested in today.
- It came down to the wire, but the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation Tuesday to avert tax increases for most Americans. The bill is expected to be signed quickly by Obama.
- And stocks have risen in the New Year on news of relief from the “fiscal cliff.” Stocks around the world saw big gains as trading began for 2013.
- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is recovering in a hospital in New York after suffering from a blood clot in her head. Clinton is receiving blood thinners to treat the issue, and is expected to recover fully.
- Apple is apparently already testing the next iPhone, as well as iOS 7, the next version of its operating system. App usage logs for app developers have found references popping up from the new device.
