A winding maze of orange cones and chalk likes covered the parking lot of Standish Elementary on Saturday, May 7. Numerous stations were set up for area kids to practice bicycle safety skills such as controlled stops, figure eights, weaving, and riding in a straight path. Attendees brought their bicycles for inspections and to run through the courses and also received a new helmet, a goody bag and healthy snacks free of charge. Drawings for new bicycles and a presentation on brain function and safety were also in the event's line up. A community service that has been around since the 1990's, the success of this year's Bike Rodeo points to many more fun and learning rodeos to come.
