Free Concert Series Continues with Vinyl Misst.
The Standish Depot was once again filled with toe tapping onlookers as the Arenac Heritage Route Authority hosted the second act in its free summer concert series. Sponsored by the Saganing Eagle’s Landing Casino, the Thursday, June 16 event brought the duo Vinyl Misst to the area for the first time. “Tom’s performed near Bay City before, but this is new frontier for me,” said Paul Johannes who hails from White Lake, Michigan. Johannes played a variety of instruments including keys, saxophone and flute, while his partner Tom Birchler played guitar and covered lead vocals. The group said they enjoyed coming to the Standish area. Vinyl Misst, whose name originated from vinyl RPM records, played a variety of cover songs from the 1960’s and 1970’s.
