Each New Year brings hope for individuals as they map out their new year’s resolutions and goals, looking to improve or enhance their lives. The local, state and national elected officials representing Arenac County are no exception. Here, they share some of their targets for the New Year, and you’ll see that some are aiming quite high.

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Menominee, First District):

“To work towards enacting health care coverage for every American.”

Arenac County Clerk Ricky Rockwell:

“To survive 2009.”

Arenac County District II Commissioner Raymond Daniels:

“Balance the budget without overdrawing the tax administration fund and still provide the services to Arenac County.”

District IV County Commissioner Ronald Branda:

“The biggest thing for me is to try and make the parks profitable this year.”

District V Commissioner Joseph Sancimino:

“Lose weight, play the piano and write a book. … Do a better job for the community.”

Sheriff James Mosciski:

“To save the taxpayers as much money as possible and to get along with and work with all other public officials.”

County Treasurer Dennis Stawowy:

“Try and keep the County Commissioners in the black.”
