Driver killed in accident at M-13 and Worth

STANDISH TWP. — A man was killed in a two-car accident at the intersection of M-13 and Worth Road Dec. 4.

According to Arenac County Undersheriff Don McIntyre, at approximately 5:33 p.m. a Chevrolet Impala driven by William Mays of Mount Morris was going westbound on Worth Road toward M-13. McIntyre said Mays collided with a Dodge Caravan going north on M-13.

Mays and a female passenger were airlifted to Saginaw for serious injuries, but the accident proved fatal to Mays, McIntyre said. The driver of the Caravan suffered minor injuries, and was taken to, and subsequently released from, St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital.

McIntyre said everyone involved was wearing seat belts, and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
