LINCOLN TWP. — The female driver of a Ford Fusion involved in a two-vehicle accident was transported to St. Mary’s of Saginaw in serious condition, after her vehicle collided with a semi on US-23 in Lincoln Township Oct. 15.

Arenac County Undersheriff Don McIntyre said the driver of the Fusion, whose name has not been released yet, was traveling southbound on US-23 approximately one mile north of the Standish city limits, and collided with the rear end of a semi that was also traveling southbound. She was transported via MMR to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital and then transferred to the Saginaw hospital, according to McIntyre.

The semi left the scene, and was stopped by police on westbound M-61, McIntyre said. He said the accident, which occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m., is under investigation.

The Arenac County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Saginaw-Chippewa Tribal Police, MMR and the Standish Area Fire Authority.
