Down utility pole causes power outages in Omer and Arenac Twp.

OMER — A down utility pole across US-23 in Omer at Sterling Road knocked out power to residents of Omer and Arenac Township early Friday morning.
According Arenac County Sheriff Jim Mosciski, a transformer caught fire after causing power lines to fall across the highway, Friday, Sept. 30.
Mosciski said it is uncertain as to why the transistor caught fire.
A press release form Arenac County Central Dispatch stated that power was restored to the surrounding area as of 9:01 a.m. Friday morning. Power in the immediate area was restored later in the day.
Traffic was rerouted around the city of Omer through Arenac State Road and Conrad Road.
The Omer-Arenac Fire Department, Arenac Co. Sheriff Department was on the scene as well as Consumers Energy.
