STANDISH — Former Superintendent Michael Dodge has submitted his letter of resignation to the Standish-Sterling Community School District school board.
Board President Dr. Leonard LeClair said Dodge handed in his resignation on Tuesday, June 7.
According to Jenny Wilson, administrative assistant at Dundee Community Schools, Dodge signed a contract and officially became the superintendent of the Dundee Community School District on Monday, June 6. Details of the contract were not available.
Dodge is scheduled to begin working at the district on July 1.
“Mr. Dodge has been working closely with our board president (James Scheich) and getting acclimated with the district,” said Wilson.
Wilson said last week that Dodge interviewed in-person for the Dundee superintendent position two times. The first interview was May 4, and the second was held on May 10.
Wilson said two Dundee Community Schools board members visited Dodge at the SSCS administrative office on May 24. She said the Dundee school board called Dodge during a special meeting May 25 to ask him to informally accept the position.
SSCS,in conjunction with the Bay-Arenac Independent School District, has begun a search for the district’s next superintendent.
Dodge could not be reached for comment.
