Arenac Eastern girls bring home district title
HALE — The Arenac Eastern Lady Eagles only gave up a total of two runs on their way to a District Championship Friday at Hale.
In its first, game, the team shut out AuGres-Sims, 5 – 0, and then easily handled Mio, which defeated Hale in round one, beating the Bolts 12 – 2.
On Saturday AE will travel to Bay City All Saints for Regional competition.
Pinconning boys headed to Regionals PINCONNING — The Pinconning Spartans baseball team had its toughest task in the first round of district play on Saturday, beating Tawas by three runs, before whacking the Ogemaw Heights Falcons 12-4.
Ogemaw dominated the Standish-Sterling Panthers, 15-0, to earn a spot in the finals.
SSC comes up short in districts STANDISH — The Standish-Sterling Central Panthers softball team defeated Ogemaw Heights on Saturday, 7-5, but were unable to bring home the district crown, falling to Tawas 9-0.
Tawas beat Pinconning 2-0 to secure its spot in the finals.
Wolverines fall to Hale in District finals HALE — AuGres-Sims easily handled Arenac Eastern in its first round game of District action, defeating its in-county rivals 16-6, but was unable to top Hale in the finals, falling 9-4.
Hale beat Mio by two runs to make it to the championship game.
