District one to see contested election
Posted 10/22/08
Last week it seemed Robert Luce’s campaign to be the District One County Commissioner was going to be smooth and that he would be a lock for the seat. Monday, Oct. 20 changed that, however.
It was that day that John Koin filed as a write-in, creating a contested election for that seat. Koin’s candidacy makes contested elections in three out of five districts – one, two and five.
In Districts one and five, the two candidates, Koin and Mike Calery, are both write-ins, so their names will not appear on the ballot.
Write-ins can file for election until Oct. 24.
See both candidates’ profiles in the Oct. 29 edition of “The Arenac County Independent.”
