STANDISH — While the sky remained an ominous shade of gray, the rain stayed away for the most part on Saturday, Aug. 11, letting the Standish car show go on without a hitch.
Diversity Entertainment provided 1950s music as tractors, trucks, motorcycles, and cars lined Cedar Street and Grove Street. Vendors had tables on the sidewalk, but packed up as the awards ceremony took place a half-hour early.
Curt Hillman, who organizes the event, mentioned in his closing comments the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe was interested in getting involved in the car show next year, the 25th year it has gone on, but the details of that involvement have not yet been discussed.
