City of Standish hires new manager
STANDISH — Monday, Nov. 17, Standish City Council decided in a 6-0 vote (one absent) to offer Michael J. Moran III, the position of Standish City Manager.
The decision came at the regularly scheduled Standish City meeting after ten days of deliberation from when six candidates were interviewed for the position on Friday, Nov. 7.
According to his resume, Moran is a diversified administrator who has experience in many areas such as private/public administration, military administration, contract negotiation, human resources, budget/planning supervision, juvenile corrections administrator, legal/court administrator, occupational counselor, crisis management, labor relations, public speaking, facilities/design management and treatment/programs planning, to name a few.
Moran was previously a city manager experience in Milan.
He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University as well as Masters Studies from American University in Washington D.C.
Wages have not been negotiated at this time.
