City appointment committee interviews two for Ward III seat

STANDISH — A Standish City Council three-member appointment committee interviewed two candidates for a vacant city council position on Saturday.

The committee, composed of council members Doug Ireland and Clark Sanford; and Mayor Mark Winslow interviewed city residents Charles Macaulay and Donna Bouldin for the position, which has been vacant since former council member Richard Vollbach resigned this fall.

“The committee interviewed two people and will make a recommendation for the appointment to city council at the meeting in January,” said City Manager Mike Moran.

Standish City Council will hold its next regular meeting on Jan. 21.
