STANDISH — The cause of a number of grass fires along 1-75 near exits 189,190, and 193 are still under investigation.

The Standish Area Fire Authority, the Arenac County Sheriff’s Department, and the Sterling Area Fire Department were called out to the fires that stretched along four miles of I-75.

Undersheriff Donald McIntyre said the cause of the fires is unknown.

The fires occurred at around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.
