Beatrice Ruth Demo, 100, of Standish, loving mother and grandmother passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Mary’s of Standish Long Term Care Facility.

She was born on March 16, 1914, in Bay City. Beatrice was a member of the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and baking but most of all spending time with her family. She will always be known for her great sense of humor. She is survived by a daughter Jane (Robert) Mitrzyk; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred on June 16, 1997; two children, Virgil (Delores) Demo, and Joan Kennedy; two grandchildren, Matthew Kennedy and Lori Ellison; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl (Leone) Hawkins; three sisters and brother-in-laws, Adeline (Eric) Johnson, Marilyn (Frank) Pliska.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, July 14, 2014, at 10 a.m. from the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Parsch presiding with burial in Pine River Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to St. Mary’s of Standish Long Term Care Facility and their staff for the compassionate care Beatrice and her family received.
