Basil Brown sentenced to prison
STANDISH — Basil Brown, 32, of Sterling, was sentenced to prison for two counts of criminal sexual conduct Nov. 27 in 23rd Circuit Court.
Brown pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree CSC with a person younger than 13 and one count of fourth-degree CSC with a person younger than 13 in October. The count of second-degree CSC carries a sentence of 29 months to 15 years in prison, and the count of fourth-degree CSC carries a sentence of 16-24 months in prison.
The sentences are to be served concurrently.
Brown engaged in sexual activities with two females who were living in the same Adams Township residence as him. He also has to pay $2,211 in fines and costs.
He was credited with 230 days served.
