Au GRES — The Au Gres city council discussed plans for the second annual Art and Wine in the Park event, scheduled for Aug. 10, during its council meeting June 5.

City Manager Pat Killingbeck said planning for the event, to be held at KinderPlatz Park off Michigan Ave, was proceeding on course.

“It’s a wine tasting event, and there’s food provided by vendors at the grounds,” Killingbeck said. “There’s going to be activities, crafts for sale by vendors, and carriage rides around the block.”

Killingbeck said the event was well received last year, with about 150 visitors, and the council was encouraged to push to hold it again. She said tickets to the event are going to be $20, while the city is still seeking out additional vendors.

She added the city had a lot of plans for the summer, which include the car cruise and the fireworks display.

“The car cruise is the most energetic,” Killingbeck said. “Most others are more low-key, but enjoyable for residents and visitors.”
