Ron Bartlett, organizer of the Standish Lions Club Christmas tree sale, receives a $110 check from Arenac County Independent Marketing and Circulation Manager Lisa Saunders Dec. 7. The check is to make up the estimated amount stolen when someone took the cash box from the tree sale Dec. 5.

The Arenac County Independent donated a check for $110 to make up the estimated difference the Lions Club saw due to the theft of their Christmas tree cash box Dec. 5. The Independent is also offering a reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Those with tips or information should contact the Standish Police Department at 989-846-4399
