Arenac Choraleers announce holiday concerts


The sounds of the season will come alive when the Arenac Choraleers perform three concerts titled “When Christmas Comes…”

The first show is Dec. 6 at the Tawas United Methodist Church, followed by a performance at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch on Dec. 7. The series will wrap up on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Standish-Sterling Central high School auditorium.

Sponsored by the Northeast Michigan Arts Council, the 60-member group hails from Arenac, Bay, Iosco, Ogemaw and Saginaw counties. The Choraleers will concerts will feature a variety of songs and stylings, as they are accompanied by Mark Lundgren on piano and directed by Devin Chisholm.

As a special feature in this year’s concert series, the chorus will perform “When Christmas Comes…” – an original piece written by Chisholm and arranged by Lundgren. During this particular piece, the Valley String Ensemble and local children’s choirs will accompany the Choraleers.
