Accident on US-23 in Standish injures two

Updated 9:16 a.m. Oct. 10 STANDISH — A two-car accident the morning of Oct. 5 on US-23 in Standish in front of the McDonald’s left two people injured.
According to Undersheriff Don McIntyre, at approximately 10:15 a.m. a Ford Focus was driving northbound on US-23 when it struck a Buick Rendezvous pulling out of the McDonald’s parking lot on the driver’s side.
The driver of the Rendezvous was not injured, while the Focus’s driver and passenger both suffered minor injuries and taken to St. Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital, McIntyre said. Everyone was wearing seatbelts.
The Standish Area Fire Authority and Arenac County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call, and an MMR ambulance took the injured parties to the hospital. The accident was cleared at about 10:40 a.m.
