ARENAC COUNTY — A Consumers Energy spokesperson said that several customers in Arenac County are still without power as of 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.

Mary Gust, a spokesperson for Consumers Energy's Northeast Michigan division, said that a total of 2,600 residents in the county are still without power in the wake of windstorms that hit the state of Michigan Oct. 26-27. Gust added that a total of 70,000 customers statewide are still without power at this time.

According to Gust, the majority of affected customers should have their power restored by Friday evening, although those people in areas that have more severe damage may have to wait until Saturday. Gust also said that Consumers Energy is bringing in crews from Indiana and Ohio, to be allocated throughout the state on an as-needed basis.
