AGS board member honored
AuGRES — AuGres-Sims (AGS) school board member Robert Lutz earned the Award of Merit from the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) through its leadership-training program designed to improve skills to become a more effective school leader.
According to a press release from MASB, Lutz, AGS school board president, achieved a level two certification, which requires nine 100-level classes in addition to 45 educational credits. Awards through the program are earned for classes completed as well as conference attendance, years of service and leadership activities. Classes range in all different aspects associated with schools, from curriculum to school law.
“In today’s tight financial times, it’s more important than ever that our school leaders are informed and prepared to deal with the complex education issues they face,” MASB Executive Director Kathy Hayes said. “Training equips them with the tools necessary to make the best decisions for the kids of our state.”
