ARENAC EASTERN — Hale's volleyball team is on a roll, and continued to win Thursday at Arenac Eastern's expense.

Hale dominated the first game, but AE opened the second game with a 4-0 run behind the serving of Chelsea Dery. But after Hale regained service, Shelby Rhein served nine straight points, before Briana Dery turned things around with a pair of kills for AE that keyed a 5-0 run. Eastern wasn't able to get any closer than 22-17 before Hale finished off the middle game.

Hale rolled out to a 16-6 lead before AE scored five points in a mini-comeback as they started to adjust to Hale's hitting.

"We had trouble blocking Hale; they're so good," said AE coach Hannah Neil. "But I felt like we figured out where we needed to be toward the end of the match.

Chelsea Dery had several blocks, though only twice was able to turn those into AE points as Hale finished with match with a 9-1 run.
