ARENAC EASTERN — Arenac Eastern won its second match of the season for the first time in the program's history, defeating AuGres-Sims 17-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-23 on Thursday.
Despite losing the opening game, AE coach Hannah Neil said the loss "Did not discourage (us)."
Leading the Eagles (2-13-1, 2-7 North Star League) were Taylor Jurek with seven spikes; Chelsea Dery with two blocks, five aces and seven tips; Erin Ecker with two digs, five aces, 17 points and six kills; and Sara Wenkel with 29 assists.
AGS dropped to 1-16 (1-9).
