AE football program to host second annual golf fundraiser

AUGRES — On June 27, the Arenac Eastern (AE) football program is hosting its second annual Grip It and Rip It Golf Scramble at Knollview Golf Course, located four miles south of AuGres on US-23.

According to the press release, the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to both men and women combined in a 4-person team format. All proceeds go to the AE football program and the cost is $260 per team.

Included in the entry fee are 18 holes of golf, cart, hotdogs and beverages, as well as a catered chicken dinner buffet by H&H Bakery of AuGres afterwards, says the press release.

Also, the first-place team with the lowest score will receive an award. In addition, there will be a 50/50 raffle, hot box raffle/skins game and contests including longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin, to be conducted in both a men’s and women’s division.

The first 36 teams are guaranteed entry into the scramble and all others will be placed on a waiting list. Payment must accompany registration.
