STANDISH — “We are picked to finish fourth (in the conferences),” said Standish-Sterling boys’ basketball coach Tom Murray. “Our job will be to continue to improve and hopefully exceed that prediction.”

Murray’s squad will return a host of varsity players from last year – seniors Mitchell McFarland, Derek Williams, Trevor Trombley, Will Stanley; and juniors Cole Walderzak, Trevor Karbowski and Tanner Trombley.

The returning players will welcome new teammates – juniors Bobby Sanch, Tyler Bartys and Michael Hinkley; as well as a sophomore Ryan Whitman.

The team looks to improve on last year’s 11-9 records when it tips off against Oscoda on its home court on Dec. 9.
