ARENAC COUNTY — The area swarmed with activities on the 2010 Fourth of July weekend. The weather kept things hot with temperatures in the 80's and 90's, while over a hundred showed up for the fireworks Sunday night. more

STANDISH — Archaeologist PaleoJoe stopped by the Mary Johnston Memorial Library on Tuesday afternoon to show children of all ages fossils, teeth and other prehistoric bones. Some of the highlights were a T-Rex tooth, a baby mammoth tooth, and a pre-historic deer vertebrae. more

STANDISH — For years the American Cancer Society has held the Relay For Life, as a chance to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and those who have lost their life to the disease. This year the Arenac County Relay For Life will take place at the Standish-Sterling Middle School Track from Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 11. more
