STANDISH — The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, released their two percent gaming revenue from the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino today at the Saganing Tribal Center on Worth Road in Standish.
The tribe released a total of $622,862.29, splitting it up between townships, schools and cities in Arenac and Bay County.

Large morel mushroom found

STANDISH—Andrea and Mike Porter of Sterling found this large morel mushroom while mushroom hunting in Malt Bys Hills outside of Rose City on Thursday afternoon. The couple claims that it was 19 inches long, and weighed 17 onces. The mushroom sits right next to two other more normal sized morels.

STANDISH — The city of Standish was just inches away from having to deal with a structural disaster to one of its downtown buildings Tuesday, when a semi flipped over at the intersection of E. Cedar St. and N. Main St. The vehicle came to rest just inches away from hitting Brummer Family Dentistry’s front wall.
