STANDISH¬—A semi carrying pelleted chicken manure crashed in downtown Standish Tuesday afternoon spilling it at the intersection of N. Main and E. Cedar Streets, and coming inches away from causing major damage to Brummer Family Dentistry at 116 N. Main. Emergency crews also had to cleanup a diesel fuel leak, and a broken snapped light post. According to the Arenac County Sheriff's department, there was no injuries, but the crash is still under investigation and charges are pending. more

STANDISH — Tuesday, March 11 was the filing deadline for the Aug. 3 Arenac County primary ballot. Voters will have a chance to pick who will represent their party in the upcoming general election, which will see many county seats up for the vote including five county commission seats, and one county road commissioner seat, along with several delegate positions. more
